Another nude for Vogue magazine

This doll has a very different mouth than any other doll I’ve previously made. It’s wide open, with visible little teeth. I’m really happy with the way it turned out, as I think it makes the face a bit more dynamic. But, of course not every doll can pull this expression off. I intend to continue experiments with different degrees of moth expressiveness.

So, could this doll be the one going up for sale next week? Or is it the next one? Or perhaps the previous one?

she is gorgeous! even better than the first! and her hair is just a dream! Simply amazing, Marina!

  2. Amal says:

She’s my favourite, but I like the blond hair more… which do u like better?

  3. Marina says:

    I donno, Amal. Can’t decide.

  4. Annina says:

who knows which one will be for sale, not me.
but this one is my favourite. :P
and i say, the white hair!
although, i reserve the right to have a new favourite next time you’re posting. and next time, and the one after that, and so forth.

  5. Annina says:

do they have model legs or something? the knee joints seem longer.
not that the regular waif doesn’t have model legs, but maybe even-more-longer-model-legs? (great name, huh? you’re welcome. ;)

  6. Marina says:

LOL Annina! You just want to have it all.

They have double jointed hips. The knees are slightly more elongated with that leg structure.

  7. Annina says:

no Marina it’s YOUR FAULT! you are making irresistible dolls!

oh yeah, i saw the double hip joint, but i thought the knee joint looked longer than usual, must have just been the angle.

apropos, having everything, i want double hip joints for my doll, i’m in love with them!

  8. The Old Maid says:

Beautiful lips! Love her in blond!:)

  9. Jenny H says:

Love the red lips. Very expressive and powerful, especially when the wind adds movement to the doll’s hair.

  10. Crystal says:

I love the fire orange red hair. Will she or what ever doll it will be (I think this one) be on ebay?

  11. Lolita would have to be my pick out of the 3. Still one missing, would love to see her soon…….you are a busy busy doll maker.

Marina you must love your life so much…..You seem to have it all. Do not get me wrong, it came with hard work. You have a career in which is so stimulating in creating beautiful works of art, and a Cook. Yes having a cook is a plus.

  12. Mai M says:

The platinum wind-blown hair is totally glamorous. The partially open mouth with fiery red lips, contrasting with that silvery hair, struck me right away. Loving these new dolls–totally sophisticated. Cannot wait to see this shoot. I’m curious about how the photo shoot will work. Will you be shooting these lovelies yourself, and sending them the pics? Or will you send them the dolls for them to shoot?

  13. Maia says:

Loving the bright orange hair! And those lips are beautiful!!!

  14. Marina says:

Yes Christiane, life has indeed been kind and generous to me. My folks gave me a great start and I’ve been very lucky along the way, but like you said, I also work very hard to make my own luck.

And I thank my lucky stars for Chad every day, who not only cooks for me, which is awesome just by itself, but who is also my work partner who helps me create and my soul mate who makes my soul grow.

  15. Marina says:

No Mai M, for the first time I will not be the one behind the camera, although I will be assisting the photographer with composition. It’s taking place over 4 days in New York City at the end of the month.

I’m very excited about this collaboration.

  16. Merri says:

Four days in New York with a professional photographer doing a photo shoot for Vogue Magazine Japan……excitement personified!!!

I think this new doll is perfect for a fashion magazine. With that platinum hair and those vivid red lips, she is very Marilyn Monroesque!

  17. Marina says:

Yeah, it’s super cool. Chad will be on set, as well as a film-maker, shooting footage for a documentary.

  18. jacci says:

are we gonna get to see the documentary? i love watching photo shoots. and you do such a great job photographing your dolls, it must be weird knowing you won’t be behind the lens this time. all three dolls are lovely, i still love what you did with the eyes on the first one, those deer eyes are so pretty

  19. Glynis says:

Ooohh I love the new face, especially with the red hair,I keep coming back to her, although I think the dark haired lady has something special, result – totally bemused!! How lovely to hear of two people who are true soul mates and compliment each other as you two obviously do, have a great time in NY, I love it there, but remember to have some time to yourselves, all work and no play etc etc….oh and loads of pictures for us to coo over pleeaase.

  20. Annina says:

oh man, the shoot sounds so cool! how great!
    and documentary, want! :D

  21. Mai M says:

Fascinating! What an amazing experience that will be — on-set in New York, assisting as your gorgeous creations are given their own glamorous photo shoot! I’m sure it will be different to have someone else “capture” them under the lens, but what a wonderful experience to be a part of! And how awesome that Chad will be on-site too, filming the documentary. We’re all thrilled for you and will be eagerly waiting to see the results!

  22. Marina says:

It’s probably going to be a while until the documentary film is ready. So, hang on. It’s going to be awesome.

  23. Annina says:

oh, so it’s actually a documentary all about Enchanted Doll??
    wow, so exciting!
i thought it might be one about something else, featuring Enchanted Doll among other things (Fashion or so).
well i’m really excited to hear it’s dedicated completely to Enchanted Doll!!

  24. Merri says:

First the book, then the documentary, then? ……a feature length movie animation featuring Enchanted Dolls! An Oscar winner for sure!:)

  25. a says:

Do you have any real photos of her instead of these terribly over-Photoshopped images?

  26. Amal says:

A, they’re not photoshopped. The filters are applied by Instagram – the application used to upload them. Part of the fun. Anyhow, I’m lucky enough to be able to say from experience that no photograph does justice to these dolls. They certainly don’t require photoshop.

  27. sailor says:

Breathtaking! Having the mouth open seemed like a gamble but it really paid off in this case, she’s so sensual and expressive. Did you make a new mold for her or modify an existing one to have teeth?

  28. Ali says:

Dear lord, Marina! Each new doll makes my heart hurt!
    She’s fabulous! I absolutely love the passionate red, and the lovely mouth all together! ;u;

  29. Marina says:

I re-sculpted my Ruby face to open up her mouth and carved out little teeth with a scalpel.

  30. Andrea says:

    love the new mouth.

  31. Eiko says:

Interesting. She looks a lot more sensual than your other dolls.

Out of all the models shown so far, I think that she is the most that looks most like a model.

  32. Sailor orbit says:

Love the open mouth with white hair. Gorgeous lip color!

  33. girinpurple says:

Hey Marina! Love your dolls! This one looks a bit like Marilyn Monroe to me, with her pale skin, white hair, red lips, and sensual expression. Of course, all three are absolutely stunning.
The pictures look like they’re from Instagram, though. Do you have an Instagram?
