hands

A handful of hands. I never usually have this many blank pieces all at once, as each doll gets cast, sanded, painted and strung individually, but since I’ve mostly been too preoccupied with the book to complete a doll lately, these unpainted parts have accumulated over the past few months. Soon, they will become dolls. A couple of these will become Echos, while one of these heads will become the latest show doll for the exhibition at the Strychnin Gallery in May.

heads

Oh which one, which one will it be, I wonder?

    CANT WAIT TO SEE MORE!

  7. Merri says:

Oh, just look at all those beautiful, delicate little hands and one with a hint of a ring. My guess for the latest show doll is the head in the middle. Could this be Valentine perhaps ? ………

  8. Jayne says:

Does the head at the back on the right look bigger than the others? Or is it the angle? Perhaps this is a new doll with the different hip joint?
Anyway, enought speculation, I can’t wait to see the painting.
    They look brilliant as usual♥♥♥

  13. Amoreen says:

I also was wondering… is there actually a slight difference of the size of dolls heads??? Awww, Marina, don’t keep your secrets just for you! ;-)))

  14. Amoreen says:

Ok, that’s the last post for today (ih, ih, ih)… I was looking at Marina’s hand. Poor girl! This is definitely a proof of your hard work! Thank you!

  15. KarolinFelix says:

what a lovely photos! Great combination of treat and a mystery!

Center one is definitely a new girl….

and… the head on the left of the top head has lips like from illustrations of LostFish <:
can this be also a new girl?

And the girl with closed eyes…. some new Empress is coming? ^_^

some heads are bigger, but Marina used to make her molds twice, so maybe that’s why?

    Dear Marina,

These pure, blank, porcelain hands and faces reminded me all the reasons I fell in love with the Enchanted Doll years ago. They are exquisite and haunting.

After the Fragility show in 2010, every new ED was still breathtakingly beautiful but somehow, perhaps just me, something was lost… and it came back with these nascent EDs.

  17. Dear Marina, I’ve found this picture that makes me think about your wonderfull dolls

  18. Astera says:

Wow, they are all gorgeous. I like the subtle smile of the smaller head: she looks a bit mischievous, like a pixie…
The central one is awesome with her glorious lips and I wish I could get a better view of the one at the very front. Hope to see all of these heads with their completed bodies soon!

  19. Annina says:

ah i just love the look of the blank porcelain, thanks for indulging us with these pics. i can’t wait to see all the fantastic new dolls!

i feel the center one is the blank face we’ve seen before, with a heart shape on the lips, maybe Valentine?
i’m also curious about the one smaller head, wondering if you made a slightly smaller doll.

  20. Landin says:

At first I thought that may be a ring on one of the hands but after taking a closer look at the heads I think I can spot maybe a wart on the nose of one of the heads, maybe a warty doll in the making? lol, Then again maybe it’s a nose ring?

    I love these sneak peeks!

  21. Isabel Pacheco says:

Wow nice surprise :) I love every white porcelain head, I’m anxious to see what new doll created much expectation,as always I wish you best of the best in your new doll created, :)

  22. Amoreen says:

Marina, would you be able to say… how many dolls you’ve made until now? Just curious, I thought about it so many times!

  23. Alisa says:

creepy and awsome at the same time… i try to make dolls too but they always end uip looking like bird sh*t

  24. Orangey says:

Nice to see an update. These faces look familiar but once they’re painted individual life will be given to them, I’m sure. I love the one in the center and the one below her, beautiful lips!

Good luck finishing up these beauties!

  25. Glynis says:

To follow on with conversations on the other thread, maybe, maybe just maybe there will be a nude doll or two for the less wealthy among us to buy among these little beauties, fingers crossed and toes!!

  26. Ruth Park says:

Dear Marina, how red your poor fingers look! I am really looking forward to your new beautiful creation,I still think you make the most excitingly beautiful ooak dolls!! Thank you for the time, effort and pain you go through to bring us visual pleasure.look after your precious hands.

  27. Merri says:

Glynis, am I the only person, keeping fingers, toes (and anything else I can find to cross) crossed in the hope that the more affordable resin line, may yet become a reality? :)

  28. Merri Ive crossed everything I could find on my body to cross. I still hope for a resin line…..Marina is always full of surprises so you never know.

    :/

  29. Glynis says:

Ha ha! Just on my way to work, Merri and Christina and you’ve both given me a laugh, people on different continents all with our bits crossed!! Paints a picture doesn’t it!!?? We can only keep the faith re a resin line or any nude doll for that matter,ah well off to work on a beautiful spring morning in Yorkshire

  30. Merri says:

Yes Glynis and crossing our bits can get quite painful after a while, especially the eyes! :)

  31. Glynis says:

Merri, just got home from work, and you’ve made me laugh again,in fact I spluttered my tea,not a pretty sight, best seen with crossed eyes maybe!! Thanks for that pal !! Lol lol

  32. Glynis and Merri I am going to turn 50, so Ive got thing flappin slappin easy to cross on this body. So I take it to the word crossing anything I can……lolllll If it takes to long I’ll beable to start tieing knots…..

  33. Glynis says:

Eeeuuuw Christine! Glad I wasn’t drinking more tea!! Lol lol maybe you could send Marina a picture for her next doll-actually no pleeeeaaase don’t

  34. Merri says:

Christiane, hooray! Someone else around my own vintage! That’s why I wish Marina could hurry and proceed with the resin line. So that I could buy a doll before dementia sets in and I forget what an ED even is !! :)

  35. Glynis says:

Merri, that’s all three of us then!!should we start a support group do you think!!?? AND if you do forget luv,I will remind you and send you pictures!!

  36. Merri says:

Bless you Glynis – if you were here right now I’d give you a great big hug !!

  37. Glynis says:

    Merri, oh thank you!!
