Golden Slippers-new shoe style for Enchanted Doll
I initially designed this pair of shoes for my Little Red riding hood doll. They are cast in sterling silver and plated with 14k gold. It’s a combination of my favorite two styles of shoes: Kitten heels and Mary Janes, and so far, is the simplest, least ornate pair of shoes I’ve made. I was struggling with a very strong urge to decorate the heck out of them. Minimalism doesn’t come naturally to me.
The light, shallow design was inspired by a drawing of my favorite artist Sulamith Wulfing. Here is a crop.
This pair fits both, the original foot and the slightly more elongated, Rubenesque foot. Which reminds me to remind you about the upcoming (Aug 23rd) ebay auction of Rubenesque doll â„–2-Salome, who is seen here strutting in a pair of Extravagance stilettos. They also fit a Rubenesque foot.
So, do you like the new simple shoes, or are they a bit too plain?

the simplicity gives them a sort of sleek elegance. i like them. will they only be gold plated or are you gonna make some in just silver too? one thing that might look interesting if you want to decorate them is a simple scrimshaw design, like Victoriam swirls or something. kinda like swirling leaves in the wind. ok, so thats more art nuoveau, but whatever. they’re beautiful.

They are simply beautiful and a very nice contrast to your more ornate heals. I simply love all your designs, and the more styles to choose from the better.

The more styles of shoes the better.. just like in real life… what you choose depends on your mood.

They are lovely!!! Love they heel most! I’d wear them if only they came in human size(((

Love them! If one wanted to spoil an ED, would they be available for purchase?

I think they look beautiful, like.. dripping golden chocolate. Yes. The simplicity creates a very ideal look, these are beautiful.

I noticed these right away, peeking out from underneath Red Riding Hood’s gorgeous cape. I think the sleekness is the perfect foil for ornate costumes. However, they also feel very modern and I completely agree with giperborea–I want a pair for me too, lol!! Gorgeous work Marina.

Marina, I can imagine that you had to exercise great restraint not to decorate! I’m no Minimalist either and I struggle with the adage ‘less is more’. But in this case, I think it really is. (Although if you made a Mark II, I could easily tolerate a little Victorian style engraving)! I love the sleek design and kitten heels are my favourite!

Want. Just. Want. There are no other words. I love these shoes.

Also, I’d love to see these as true slippers, without a heel. But thats just me.

Perfect Marina, simple is more!

Personally I think these are my favorite shoes. They drew my eyes right away in Riding Hood’s pictures and I struggled several times to magnify her shoes because I was already in love with them! Please do keep them simple–they are the perfect accessory to your doll’s elegant dresses, and I think it makes them more youthful and light-footed looking

they’re wonderfully sweet – their simplicity makes them look like the softest leather slipper. Their shape is elegant and perfect, a wonderful compliment for an outfit that might already be incredibly detailed.
Someone mentioned it before, but this also means they can be engraved with patterns, if you wish to create more elaborate ones in the future, or left simple.
Will they be added in the future to the “shoes available to order” page? I know many ED’s out there that would covet a pair (or two…

Beautiful. They look a bit like dance shoes, I could imagine an ED dancing Argentine Tango in them

Hi Marina,
to be honest I think you can see the toes too much… The shoes look beautiful, but I like it more when shoes cover up at least the toes completely.

It’s like you guys read my mind about the scrolls. I’ll try it when I have some time.
Eventually I will make these available to order.

Ooh…goody!!

i love simplicity, so these are almost an instant fave for me but i love the persian slippers and stilettos muchly so they all are my faves.
slightly dislike that the little toe is showing, probably cause they can fit both rubenesque and waif feet, but apart from that i love the shape of them. there’s something magical about them.

They’re amazing, Marina!!!
August 24th, 2012 23:29
Marina, if you do make these avaliable to order, could you have offer the option of getting decorated or plain? I love them just the way they are, exposed toes and all. That’s part of what makes them so regal to me as they give the impression of “I’m far too rich and important to have totally functional shoes.”

Gorgeous! I love the simplicity! I want a pair ASAP! <3
