Vogue Japan and Enchanted Doll

Hey guys, the Christmas issue of Vogue Japan was released last week! I’ve been waiting for it to come out since we did the shoot with the photographer Lacey, in New York this August. It was a fantastic collaboration and I think she did an amazing job capturing the spirit of Enchanted Doll.

Although Vogue is sending me a copy, I’m jealous of those of you living in Japan, as you can just go out and buy it. I want to get a bunch of copies for my family, without having to fly to Japan myself, but I’m not sure where I can buy it in North America. I can’t wait to hold it in my hands and smell the glossy paper!

    The photos are GORGEOUS, congrats!!
But I can’t help but notice the lack of nipples! Did Vogue Japan not approve of showing the beautifully painted Enchanted Doll breasts?

The photos are just stunning! The effect with the water is totally wonderful, and very effective when combined with the draped gauzy fabric.

They are stunning!! You must be so proud! Was the water a digital effect as we know the warnings about getting the springs wet, or did you throw caution to the wind? Just lovely!

Exquisite! Thank you so much for sharing. I will be headed to my local magazine rack to have the distributor order some copies for me. I would love a couple of those pictures framed and hanging in my home!

I still like your photos better. For some reason they look a bit washed out. I do like the compositions but I like your photographs more.

Beautiful photos! I especially like the watery ones. Though it makes me wonder, how Lady Skyler is doing after being half submerged? I know that you don’t recommend it…Did she get disassembled and dried out or did she have to get new leather and springs?

They are all so otherworldly beautiful and on this day i dub you Master of Headpieces.

I find the setting of the Photo with the JO Loves perfume most interesting and the one with the three dolls has the most captivating atmosphere to me and they remind me of the Nornes (if the perfume bottles were rocks it would be perfect).

Below the cover of the magazine image is a link to preview the content pages of the magazine. Marina’s doll are under the “In the Mood for Fantasy” and if you scroll down a bit you will see a small picture of 2 of her dolls. :D

It’s amazing that all the Japanese bookstores that are willing to ship overseas are all out of this magazine, well of course with the exception of Amazon. I think I might have to get my copy from ebay. Congratulations Marina, the photos are beautiful!
