5 years, 10 months ago 19

Here is part two of “Cinderella Comes Together“, a behind the scenes look at the Cinderella doll being put together. Part one started with the doll being strung, and part two moves on to the other elements of the doll (Stand, dress, wig). Part three will be posted later this week.

What’s your favourite shot so far (from either part)?

Be sure to watch it in HD on the Vimeo page.

    Hi Marina,

thank you for that wonderful second video (and for the first too ;-)). It is amazing to get such a detailed and lovable “insider-look” into your work :-) My favorite parts is when you did the hairdo and when you move the doll in general. The way you touch and move Cinderrella (so lovingly!!!) shows how much you must love each of your dolls :-) It must be hard to let them go in the end ;-)

    Very nice video Marina.
We saw this video with my 2 daughters aged 7 and 4 years , they thought that Cinderella is alive princesse ! :)

Can’t wait to see part three . Thank you for showing us how dreams come into reality.

I love the haircut in the second video. It’s professional miniature hair styling, with tiny scissors no less!

I must say I did love the way the face is lighted in the hairstyling segment…Makes me want to go to eBay and press the bid button many times. I must tie my hands somewhere:)

That was special. Her eyes are painted so well that she actually appears to look at you with an imploring expression. Thank you!

I LOVE these videos!! I love seeing your hands, and your dolls, in action. I hope to see more “mini documentaries” in the future…

My goodness… why does she look so alive?? She sat there, as you were styling her hair… she looked so happy to to be in your hands. To be formed by your hands. You’re like a magician, Marina.

So enjoyed Part 2 – reaffirms all the skills needed to create an enchanted doll e.g. painter, engineer, ceramist, dressmaker, jeweller, hairdresser and most essential, love – it shows in your work.

Whaou it’s a true work of love and art.
Someone can feel how and why you are born to make doll, you are a pure magician dear Marina, it should be very hard to let her go after all those time you spend with her ?

    Love the dog too

I really love when you take the pieces and pull it all together and she is finally sitting there, something that never existed before. She goes from parts to person, and there is a moment of magic in that. As if she had been floating out there in the ether all along, and you just plucked her out.

I laughed out loud at the sugar in the tea…3? 4? Go for it Marina, you are young!
I loved the part where you trim her hair, so precisely and confidently. The whole shot is beautiful and Cinderella looks radiant with her hair wet. In general it is obvious the love you pour into making your dolls, your perfect, lovely creations. She is a joy to behold!

No favourite moment, sorry ;) Each moment is a treat. It’s great to see you in action and your dolls almost literally coming to life. The painting job is even more incredible in the close-ups. Chad is a formidable director. Have you ever thought of making a full-length film of your art, from start to finish and sell it in DVD form or even in bluray? I’m sure your fans would love it. I know I would!
