Why did I make you a website?
Hmmm, yes, I ask myself the same thing! ...Well, let me stress that it's not because I dislike your current website!
I wanted to make something as far-removed from the dolls themselves as I could, applying the same lateral thinking that you encourage in your own work. I've been learning more and more about how to put a website together with the intention of (someday) creating my own site. I decided to put my learning to the test by making you a website. It's selfish really, because the process has cemented a great amount of knowledge that will be very useful to me!
What went into it?
The website is a custom Wordpress theme with hand-scripted bits of Flash. My family often accuse me of not selling myself properly, so please excuse me while I do my best to pitch this to you!
Some of the main features (things that I'm most proud of):
A dynamic xml/php/actionscript driven Flash gallery
Thumbnail images are generated on the fly via actionscript
All gallery content is controlled externally via xml
Flash menu items and sub items can be added/modified via xml
Twitter widget cycles latest 5 tweets into Flash. (Still working on making links clickable.)
Random image widget pulls and resizes images from specified folder, with a timed fade-in effect.
