Natural Beauty by Hazel S.
Materials: Medium: Pixel Art | Programs Used: MS Paint and Graphics Gale
Dear Marina, the moment you gave the announcement for an Enchanted Doll birthday contest, a brilliant idea struck my mind. It was a beautiful, daring idea which I was sure would impress you. This piece I am submitting right now... is not that brilliant idea. I got hung on some difficulties with the tools I needed to execute that idea and, alas, realized I could not finish it on time. Knowing that the chances of getting another brilliant idea in the matter of weeks were slim, I then decided to rely on my usual talents to create this: an Enchanted Doll illustrated entirely in pixel art.
In it, the mechanical body of an Enchanted Doll is placed against the organic silhouette of nature - artificial against natural. The differences, however, end there for both have a soft, ethereal beauty and, of course, life - one is naturally alive and the other given life through hard work, a careful hand and commitment to a vision. Please consider this gift as a "thank you" for the life you have given to these works of art which have touched me and my own work. I have neither met you nor do I know much about you other than through the beautiful dolls you make, but I am certainly glad you were born this day 28 years ago.
