Enchanted Necklace Prototype by Marlie J.
Materials: Sterling Silver, Windsor and Newton designer gouache, Strathmore gray scale paper.
My idea was to make a necklace that would fit an Enchanted Doll but could also be worn by its owner. I sent you a part of necklace (the part that can be worn by a doll or a human) and two drawings illustrating how the finished product would have looked. I did not send you the shoulder elements that you can see on the drawings because I was "absolutely" not satisfied by them (the shoulder elements would have hooked themselves in the back of the "other" element).
The prototype I sent you is made of sterling silver. I made, formed and soldered every silver sheet and wires on the prototype and I used the "fusion" technique for the texture. The result is an incomplete prototype but it still can be worn if you put a chain on it.
Thank you very much for holding this contest, it motivated me to start working on miniature jewelry. I always wanted to do so but needed a good excuse to start working I guess! I hope my English is comprehensible...And finally, the most important thing of all, I wish you a happy birthday!
