THE LAST MINOAN PRINCESS PRIESTESS BITTEN BY HER OWN SNAKES by Danae

She was the last mediatory agent between people and her Goddess, the Great Mother, Earth. She would dance and sing to her goddess and all creatures of the Earth would listen. But now all her people are slaughtered by the northern warriors who brought their own gods, gods of destruction and anguish. She was spared for being too pretty. And now she is shattered by shame for loving one of them, the warrior with the golden hair who murdered her own kind. Tonight she would dance the snake-dance for him. But as she grabs the snakes they wrap tightly around her hands and bit her. She is not afraid, she had prayed for this. She walks in to the great communal room where the men have gathered. They all stare with awe as she sings and dances until she collapses before him.
