Enchanted Doll in Moscow, Russia.

2 years, 5 months ago 46

Hey guys! Just a little update from Russia, while I have a spare minute during breakfast.

I’m in Moscow right now, promoting my book and the new resin line of dolls, with Chad and my dad helping me at the show.

So, for the last three days I’ve been doing a lot of book signing, taking pictures with doll fans and chatting to them about my new resin line, giving TV and paper interviews and networking with other artists and event organizers. I finally met the Popovy twins, and even bought my first artist teddy (who is actually an elephant)! With so much going on, I hardly had any time to breathe.

It’s been really busy and exciting, and I want to thank the organizer Svetlana Pchelnikova for putting on this event, and of course everyone who came to the show. And a big, huge thanks for all the flowers, you guys! It means more to me than you know.

This picture is exactly the scene I imagined…..bees around a honey pot! :) Marina, you are so humble, but we your fans were in no doubt that these resin beauties would sell out in a flash!

Marina, I think there’s only you surprised by this !! It was as clear as day to the rest of us that this would be the case,so glad you had a great time and that the resin ladies where as popular as the original ones.

  7. Eiko says:

Congrads on such a big success!

Tho as others have said, I’m not surprised that the resin dolls sold out in a manner of hours on the first day. They’re beautiful dolls and I envy those who already got one :)

  8. Glynis says:

Second look, did anyone else notice how many people around Marinas stall compared to the ones in the background ? Just saying….!!

  9. Jayne says:

Congratulations Marina, Chad and your Dad, I’m so happy it went so well for you. We all knew you would blitz it :)
I love the look on the face of the fair haired lady at the front,(holding the dark and blonde doll). She looks like she’s thinking “If I run now with these two, do you think they’ll notice?”.
I’m so jealous, I’d love to be able to see your dolls at a show♥

  10. Hazel says:

As Glynis and Jayne have said, we’re so not surprised that the resin line was hit! :>

I hope you three had lots of fun! Congratulations on the successful show! (And hope you get to catch up on your sleep afterwards.)

  14. Glynis says:

Marina, have you ever brought your ladies to the UK? And,more importantly!,do you have any plans to do so in the future? I would love the chance to see the whole show,as I’m sure lots if people in the UK would.

  15. It must be stressfull having all these people touching them. Some have gloves and some not….before you know it your dolls are going to need bodyguards…..you must be exhausting due to the stress

  16. amoreen says:

Wow, Marina! Congratulations! If you ever had doubts on resin line…here you are! The picture speaks for itself!!! Lol

  17. Amal says:

LOL @Jayne – that’s exactly what it looks like she’s thinking! (Not that I blame her!)

Marina, I hope there’ll be more and more events like these in the future as well as exhibitions! Still holding onto the hope of meeting you one day! And other fans too! It’s clear to see the ‘buzz’ in this one photo! xxx

  18. Orangey says:

I smiled at this post. Nice that your father also went! Congratulations on a successful time! I bet all your Russian fans (and other nationalities) stampeded to this event, what an amazing chance for anyone who could go! The doll show looks supreme, I would love to go to one like this! With your dolls of course, and also the other beautiful dolls. Admittedly I’d have a hard time leaving the ED booth though, ha. Amazing that you got to meet the Popovy sisters (oh, they are twins! No wonder they are both so talented).

We’d love to see the elephant! ;D

PS, it’d be great if someone took videos of these doll shows… I’d love to see a clip of this scene in action!

  19. Merri says:

Orangey – maybe it’ll be in the ED documentary! :)

  20. Orangey says:

    Fingers crossed ;D

  21. Jayne Wourms says:

Here is me hoping there would be dolls left over. What was I thinking???? Congratulations!!!

  22. Aeroksana says:

Oh! Just realized that I did see the camera! When I handed the flowers Marina we was shooted by the camera on the tripod, 99% chance that it’s was a video, not a photo camera. Wow! I was SO excited that would not notice even an elephant! :)

  23. Glynis says:

Aeroksana – that made me laugh and splutter my tea all over, not notice an elephant!! I think it’s a good day when someone makes you splutter your tea,so thank you,I’m so glad you had such a good time

  24. Aeroksana says:

:D Glynis, dear, they say that laughter prolongs life, so, I’m at your service!
I am still very impressed with my visit to Moscow Doll Salon. Meeting with Marina and her dolls was unforgettable! Also, I was very pleased to get to know her father and Chad. I was lucky to even hold in my own hands a new resin doll! I’m so glad! ♥

  25. alma says:

    More photos please. wow!!

  26. Marina I can’t help but notice your father who I guess is beside Chad…….How old is he? Gee he looks in good shape, you are 30 so that makes him in his early 50’s……..no grey hair and looks slim……Looking good……

  27. Luna says:

Omg their book cover is prettier T_T

  28. Orangey says:

Luna, is it different? I didn’t notice!

  42. Mai says:

Marina, I just wanted to say that in the photos I’ve seen of you from this event, you were stunningly gorgeous!! Your hair looks so sleek and pretty! It’s no wonder your dolls are so lovely when their maker is just as beautiful. Best wishes for your next show in Italy!

  43. I truly have to second that Mai, she is just stunning……

  44. Orangey says:

Thirded, her hair and herself are blinding! In the best way imaginable, you really radiate M.B! :)

  45. Elina says:

Марина, я на вашем сайте впервые (искала в нете казахских кукол и случайно увидела ваше творчество)… я очарована куклами и высоким профессионализмом. Надеюсь когда-нибудь увидеть их своими глазами.
    Удачи вам!
