Limited Edition Costumed Dolls
Limited Edition Costumed doll is the most recent edition to the Enchanted Doll Collection.
In essence it is a porcelain doll dressed in a dye sublimation printed costume made from a high-resolution photograph of a one of a kind, bead-embroidered costume I had previously made.
The original dress is photographed with a digital SLR, flattened, digitally ‘unwrapped’ and edited in Photoshop to fit a new pattern. It is then printed, tested, edited again to fine tune it and sent off in a digital format to my textile printer in the US who prints the images onto 100%, soft polyester fabric. I have it mailed back to me where I put it together.
Dye sublimation is the highest quality printing method that’s used in the fashion industry for textile printing. The image quality is extraordinary and permanent and picks up most of the finest details of original beadwork.
