A One of a kind engrave-tattooed, porcelain doll with a one of a kind beetle head ornament. The body of the beetle is cast in Bronze, while the legs are sterling silver. It’s painted with synthetic enamel to appear as a real insect. Wings, however, are actual, rubber-coated beetle wings. Removable wig is magnetic. Beetle attaches to wig with a magnet as well.
The project is inspired by a Victorian obsession with discovery, scientific classification and preservation of the curiosities of the world.
