Back to work on dolls as of today! Gotta finish my ongoing project Theodora Rex, which is near completion, and then move on to finish another doll I’d been working on for a few months. Given the stage she’s at, I think it is now safe for me to disclose her name: Madame Pomapadour.

Marina I feel a though I am about to burst with excitement!!!! MADAM POMAPADOUR!!! Now this was worth the wait!! Be still my beating heart be still. I can not wait to see what your vision of this historical beauty might be. Is that a helmet for this lovely lady?

    • Marina says:

No, Anthony, the helmet was for something else. I plate stuff in batches so as to be efficient. I’m keeping Madame Pompadour’s accessories a secret for now.

I love that she is Madame Pompadour! Intelligent, refined, beautiful and so influential! The heart of the king in her hands and a sense of style still defines French decor today. Loving all things French and having just returned from Paris a few short weeks back, this doll is going to break my heart, I just know it!!

Welcome back ! Gorgeous helmet love to have one!

  6. Anthony says:

I thought a helmet for a French aristocrat seemed a little off, but after all of these years of following your work Marina I’ve learned to sometimes expect the unexpected. I can not wait to see Madame Pomapadour’s mysterious yet no doubt astoundingly beautiful accessories, and of course the doll herself <3
