These are the two dolls I mentioned several weeks ago. Both are still works in progress, but since i probably won’t have time to finish them before I leave for Europe, i though i might as well show them. I’ll be bringing both of them to the Paris Creation show with me, so those of you who are coming, can see them in person.

oh my God, Marina. I am speechless!!! I can’t even say much more right now. Love them both. The tattooed doll’s face is so incredibly realistic!!! *Rushing off to look at your Costumed Dolls gallery*

Once again, gorgeous dolls. The costume of the Bride of Frankenstein is incredible- both delicate (the dress) and sort of military (the helmet), technology and science-oriented, steampunk…

The tattoo of the Vessel is very moving and beautiful. I feel lots of contradicting and strong emotions going through me when I look at it… It is wonderful and brave work, Marina. I admire your courage for experimenting.

Both dolls are amazing. The Bride is deliciously creepy, in a beautiful, haunted kind of way. And the Vessel…she’s the most beautiful of your dolls to date. Her hair is gorgeous and really, really, realistic looking. More so than the other dolls. I understand why you would want to hold onto as much of the material as possible.

Your creations never cease to amaze me.

I love the intense and solemn gaze of both. They seem to exist beyond the creator already and are telepathic.

    mirum et magnum facinus!

  10. Cloudy-Chan says:

the vessel’s face looks similar to the male doll faces, more like the sculpture of David

Words cannot express my wonder about your work – and the mere word “doll” is such an understatement. These are pieces of some otherworldly existence come into life by your hands. I cannot wait to see what Frankenstein’s bride will look like when finished, it is so wonderfully twisted and steampunk-ish!

I love love love! the new headpiece. Have you ever thought of doing a doll with a prosthesis?? Just a thought. I think it would be beautiful, unique and fit in with some of your other styles. :) ???
