Hey-ya everybody! Oh boy, I sure missed you guys! It’s been six months since my last blogging.

I’m finally back with a long-awaited, new porcelain doll! You’ve seen sneak peaks of her in progress before, but the time has come for you to finally see her in full! She will be sold at my annual Enchanted Doll auction November 30th-December 3rd.

So, without further ado let me present, my latest, one of a kind, heavily engraved, porcelain Enchanted Doll – Madame de Pompadour!

Madame de Pompadour 2016

Engraved fine porcelain doll, China painting, 24k gold plating, Steels spring doll assembly, Antique Sterling Silver filigree ships, Cast bronze hair combs, Varnished Silk and Angora wig, Enamelled cast bronze shoes, 12 Rubies, 4 Freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals, Vintage millinery flowers, Silk, Wood, Steel.

Size: Doll height 14.5″ (37cm), Wig height 5″ (13cm), Overall height 19″ (49cm).

This doll will be auctioned off through ebay. Originally Madame de Pompadour was intended for the Luxford auction house in Hong Kong, but the timing of the auction didn’t work out this time around, so I decided to go with ebay on November 30th-December 3rd.

I’ll show you more photos and tell you more about this doll next week. In the meantime, please enjoy these and save the auction dates Wednesday, November 30th – Saturday, December 3rd, 2016!

Can’t wait to show you the rest.

    Кукла потрясающая!

  14. Kitty says:

Oh my god, the wig alone is a centerpiece! Seriously, the doll is stunning but I’d buy the wig and put it in a glass cabinet in the centre of the room and have visitors fawn over it. Truly amazing. Yes, post lots and lots of pictures, please, because there’s no way I’d ever be able to make even an opening bid for her, and I’d love to see every inch of her up close.

  15. Tina says:

Absolutely stunning. I could never part with such a doll. Thank you for sharing your amazing gift!

  16. Alexandra says:

Will the little ships ever be available to purchase? They are so amazing!!!

  19. Gaynor says:

She is breathtaking (gasps!). Can’t take my eyes off her. It’s so nice to hear from you again. We were all a little concerned about your silence … imagining all kinds of crazy scenarios!

  20. Анжела says:

Кукла хороша! Но как такой большой парик у неё держится на голове…

  21. Amal says:

You must have been doing an engineering course during your absence – becaise that wig defies gravity, surely! Does it really stay on unsupported?! Her face is one of your best yet! It’s great to hear from you again – hope you are well, Marina!

  22. Hello Marina!

    Great to “read you” again!

It’s been said before but how else can I say it- you are a genius!!! Always several steps ahead of everyone else, creating unexpected, stunning and every-time-new pieces!

This masterpiece is so beautiful, incredibly detailed and beyond everything else we have seen so far! She has such a gorgeous, delicate face, yet looks very powerful in her signature wig. Then again, my heart goes to her in her with her simpler hairdo- she immediately becomes very fragile, almost tragic in her appearance, making me think of Cinderella (the character) before the Great Ball or even The Little Match Girl (although I feel her story would’ve been one involving love, amongst other things)…

Your artistry embodied in this doll brings to mind the most complex, elaborate jewellery pieces gathered by Catherine the Great and owned by the Romanovs.

Filigree, yet powerful. Most intricate and awe-inspiring.

Once again, you have exceeded what can be defined as “doll artistry”. This marvellous piece would make a wonderful exhibit in the Hermitage for hundred thousands to enjoy. :)

  23. Maria Papadopoulou says:

    Simply marvelous!!!!!! Congratulations Marina!!

  24. Anthony says:

It is so good to see you back Marina!!!! I know I am going to sound like a broken record fan boy when I saw this, but I am truly and utterly gobsmacked by this new masterpiece. I mean truly above and beyond anything I have EVER seen you do Marina!!! She truly is just absolute and utter magic. Everything about her from that inquisitive Mona Lisa stair to that incredible pink ocean of a wig, I mean can we talk about that wig!!!! Those ships look to be at see in those glorious curls & braids. We truly are not worthy…. Just WOW!!!!

  25. Nanyalin says:

    Lovely, Marina! Great work!
And since the heads are detacheable, one could play French Revolution with the doll! (but the pain of stringing it back, uh : / ) ; P

    • Jacci says:

ok, this comment made me laugh. seriously, there’s already the one photo of a beheading, (Salome) now Marina could do another. it would make for some interesting photos for sure, if not a little grotesque.

  26. Sonia Anne says:

  31. Astera says:

What a pleasure to have news from you, Marina. And the doll…Pure joy! it’s so nice to finally see the full masterpiece in all its lovely details! Surely the formal wig is a firework of grandeur, but I have to say that the informal, smaller wig you made for her is also quite beautiful. It’s delicate and has those locks so naturally falling around her face…I like how it highlights the elegance of her features. Anyways, congratulation for this great work and best of luck with the auction.

  42. Syaron says:

First of all may I please say how delighted I am to see your writings again. I so enjoy hearing about your work. And as for this glorious creation, words fail me. She is a treasure for the ages brought forth from your creative soul that has no bounds!

Now if only my wife would let me sell our house, I could actually bid on her!!

  43. Deborah sinclair says:

Dear marina, your work on Mme. Pompadour is phenomanel
And I would be happy to just lay eyes on such an
Exquisite piece in real life. I would happily sell my
Soul to the devil to own her. She is a masterpiece of
Stunning proportions. I would put her in my bed and sleep
On the floor if she was mine. I cannot find the words to
describe her beauty and mesmerising aura. She is indeed
in a class of her own and I cannot think of
anything or anyone who comes even near her and her magnificence.
How do you do it? Methinks maybe a deal was done with
said devil and I can only look on in awe of you and
the inspiration that gave birth to her. You must be very
    proud indeed.
