Signing books

…And boxing them up for shipping into custom boxes with a custom stamp. Chad had the boxes made, while I had the stamp carved. I sign them, he packages them. That’s the division of labor in our relationship. He also does the cooking. Cha-ching!

Anyway, when you see this box in the mail, you’ll know what’s in it. ;)

Now back to signing.

Marina, your book-related updates keep me up at night! ;o) When it arrives, I would keep the package as well, the stamp is beautiful! Thank you for all your hard work, Marina and Chad.

  2. Jayne says:

Ditto what MigMig said, I’m so keeping the box too♥♥♥

  3. Marina says:

Oww guys, I’m glad you’re digging my boxes, but they aren’t really that special. They are just plain cardboard fitted to the shape of the book, with a pretty stamp on the front.

It’s simply an elegant shipping solution, not a collector’s item. But if it moves you, then I’m not going to tell you that you can’t keep it.

  4. Amanda says:

Oh my god, I can’t wait to find this in the mail! I may faint when I see it!

And the stamp is beautiful, though it and the box will no doubt be scuffed and dirtied in shipping. More’s the pity.

  5. Hazel says:

I am definitely going to keep my box too. It’s simple, but so pretty! I’ll probably continue to store the book in it to prevent any rough handling.

Meanwhile, I’ve set aside a special place in my library to keep my copy. Don’t work too hard, both of you <3

  6. Kamila says:

It must be a great feeling, finally signing the copies of your book after putting so much work into this project! I am looking forward to receiving my copy, too :)

  7. Annina says:

lovely, we are getting a stamp, it looks so beautiful!
you’re both great people you know, thanks for working with such dedication!

    Cha-ching indeed! ;D

  8. Amal says:

The box looks special to me too! – beauty is in in the details :-)

  9. Amoreen says:

Thank you, Marina and Chad, for all effort put in a whole project. I am setting a special place in my library too!!! Can’t wait, can’t wait…

  10. Miss 105 has justed been signed. I so can’t wait. So far so good no blood in sight.

    Thank you!

  11. Oh boy oh boy, one will be on it’s way to Hungary, yahooooo!!!!

The box is a nice idea, a simple, yet aesthetic and professional solution to package and ship them!!

  12. Carmelo says:

NICE! Can’t wait! Marina-tell Chad to put a ring on that finger already!………………….or should you put one on his? I mean according to you he cooks AND cleans! Your both a catch!

  13. Rebecca says:

I may or may not be jumping up and down in my office chair right now.

You always go above and beyond, Marina (and Chad!). I was not expecting a beautiful box, too!

Thank you for all your hard work–I can’t wait to see it!!!

  14. […] Enchanted Doll book is shipping this […]

  15. Merri says:

I think these books are deserving of their own optional extra accessory line! I would love to see bookmarks ( a larger version of the aluminium pendants perhaps). The long, slim shape would be a perfect canvas for full length images of Enchanted Dolls. And how about a custom designed tin (similar to the ones that house Enchanted Dolls). Such a tin would make a wonderful dust and protective cover and still be beautiful to display!

  16. Marina says:

I like the way you think, Merri!

Book marks? Maybe. A custom tin box to house the book? Very elegant and extravagant, but not that simple, logistically speaking.

I think that a tin, although beautiful, would interfere with the usability of the book somewhat. I personally dislike protective paper and box jackets on my books. They’re too fussy and annoying. A book should be as accessible as possible to a reader; grab it, open it, read it!

  17. Merri says:

Marina, ordinarily I would agree with you about keeping books easily accessible. But, this is a SPECIAL book! :)

  18. Marina says:

I hope it lives up to your expectations!

  19. Saori says:

Yupiiiii! I’m so excited!!!!! Que emocion!!!! I will get my dreamed book finally!!!!! Thank you so much Marina!!!

  20. Suok69 says:

Can not wat to receive my own book. Marina, you are spoiling us with your wonderful creations.

  21. I have to agree with Marina, dislike any fuss to getting the book. I personaly am going to show case my art books in a glassed door library for people to see, but not to touch with grease dirty fingers. Very annoying people licking there fingers to flip pages.

Book mark would be nice but in a very special way.The only way Marina knows how.

  22. Merri says:

Christiane – so many have expressed excitement about receiving a cardboard box and their desire to keep it, with one person commenting that they may continue to store their book in this. As Marina said, it may be an elegant shipping solution but it’s not really a collector’s item. That’s why I thought a box tin might be a beautiful option for some.

  23. Marcia says:

Maybe it will come this week?

  24. Jody says:

Mine arrived today!(#16) I could not wait to open it-devour it- and could barely put it down. Gorgeous, fascinating look into your life and the meaning behind the dolls.
    I loved every page!
( a few small typos to fix before the second printing)
Congratulations on achieving so many dreams – – keep them coming. You are looked up to by so many people for the beauty you bring to this world.

  25. Caesar Wong says:

I wish there was a box for the box, because it’s almost a sure thing that my book will arrive dented, and that box looks more like a sleeve than a box that contains adequate padding to prevent corner damage, although I would be more than delighted to be wrong.

  26. Таня says:

I wonder which book number will be mine :D
    Can’t wait to get it!

  27. Fabiola says:

It almost makes me cry! I’m longing to receive the book…

  28. Marcia says:

I am so lucky to have received #25 in the mail this week. It was well padded and undamaged, great care was taken. The book is magnificent! It is beautifully printed, well designed and the photographs are perfect. You can see every detail. I have not started reading yet, only glancing at each page until I have some quiet time to really appreciate it.
I will treasure this book, but it will be looked at, and not stored away out of reach.

  29. Eva says:

I find it amusing that these are also the division of labor lines that my husband and I fell into when I started selling my creative work. I design stuff and promote it, he helps me construct and ship it, and he cooks. ;)

I got my book earlier this week and it’s just breathtaking. I’m so happy to have this close up view of all your beautiful girls!

  30. Annie says:

I am wondering when will this book can be sent out?

  31. fabiola says:

Still waiting for the book to be delivered…

  32. Laa says:

214 found its way to my doorstep. What a lovely book. Truly exceptional!

  33. I just want to say I am just all new to weblog and seriously savored this page. Almost certainly I’m planning to bookmark your site . You certainly come with good articles. With thanks for sharing with us your blog site.
