Tattooed Porcelain Girl

This is my first attempt at tattooing a porcelain doll.

I think it turned out pretty good. You can find this new girl in the Costumed Doll gallery because even though she is nude, her tattoo is her costume. The name of this project is Mermaid Song. This girl also has a new face with a new hair style, and can be ordered as a nude. When i’m taking orders that is.

What’s cool about this tattoo is that it’s an actual tattoo; the drawing is engraved into porcelain prior to firing with a fine needle as a real tattoo would be ‘engraved’ into human skin.

oh, i think i absolutely love her! she is so..!!!!
tattoo reminds me ”gjel” style, if you know or remember what i mean, this grey-blue-white color. however, it looks wonderful and perfectly suit in her back!)
and it seems she would be very pretty also with an open eyes))!!

I love her so much! She is definitely one of my favourites. I adore her face but would be happy to see this sculpt with opened eyes as well. Any plans for this option? :)

The tattoo is a work of art as much as the doll herself. Another stunning piece, Marina. I am seriously thinking of a tattoo for my Enchanted girl now. But, ahhhhhhhh, the endless choices!

You are phenomenal! I found your site through Boing Boing and have wasted half my work day browsing through the galleries :) These are amazing; and I’m so happy to see someone else who empathized with the Princess of the Little Mermaid– she’s actually the protagonist in a novel I’m working on.
    Again– beautiful work. I’m overwhelmed.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Just want to let you know that this doll is just the first in a series of tattooed dolls. I will begin on a new one in the next month, so keep your eyes open for some skin art.

jeeze, your dolls are so pretty! I especially love how you’ve constructed the joints, so amazing and lovely. Lots of times ball jointed dolls that I’ve seen fall down in this area, whereas yours seem like an enhancement and the prettiest part. Someday I hope to become a collector, in the mean time I look forward to enjoying your blog!

Stunning! I’m an airbrush artist but I’m always open for new ideas and inspiration, and your work is definitely inspiring!

I am curious about the average price of your dolls.

  13. I noticed nothing reoccurs every year on the calendar . I think I saw that there is an option to select reoccurs every year when you post an event . I think birthdays and anniversaries may need to be altered .
