Marina…. I don’t know how many more surprises my little heart can take!!!! Could this new mystery beauty be Irene of Athens, Empress of the Byzantine Empire?

  2. Arianne says:

All I can say is yippee!

  3. Wow! lots of jewels!

  4. Oly says:

Dear Marina! Does she the empress? For example:
    - Saint Helen (Elena) (mother of Saint Constantine),
    - St. Pulcheria (died in 453)

I can write about 20 famous empresses. Please, give us some hint!

  5. Crystal says:

Your killing us with all this mystery!!!!
And soon your going to take a few days off for your birthday and work will stop, and we won’t be able to see anything.
It would be nice if you left us with one special peek before then. :)))

  6. Lucy says:

  7. Are we guessing again?

  8. marina says:

    Theodora!!

  12. azure says:

having read a little about Phryne and Theodora, its interesting that you chose to make the two dolls at the same time, given some of the similarities of their lives, not much but some. i’ll be looking forward to reading your artistic statement about this doll, and of course, I can’t wait to see photos of both ;)

  13. Debi says:

Ooh, looks interesting! I can’t wait to see her! :D

  14. marina says:

You are very perceptive, Azure. I am on a bit of a ‘feminism of the antiquity’ bender right now. I’m very drawn to unconventional females throughout history and I wanted to compare these two empowered women from different periods.

We’ll see how they turn out in respect to one another.

  15. Christina says:

    Dear Marina!
How can I purchase your Enchanted doll? I have already sent an email to you,but no reply! Now,could you tell me how to contact you?

  16. Sylwia says:

I also think about Teodore – because of famous mosaic from San Vitale.

  17. sumi says:

    -Teodora?
    -Galla Placidia?
