Concept sketches for the shoes.

Wax models of the shoes in the works. I hope to finish the second one by Wednesday and begin molding. It’s probably the most challenging pair I’ve made so far. I’m worried about the mold design and the inject-ability of these molds and hope to find out if they work by the end of the week.  Tonight I’ve got lots of writing to do, but it’s hard, because I can’t stop thinking about these unfinished waxes sitting on my desk.

My words exactly, I was about to say that no matter what you do, my reaction is sure to be a ‘wow’. Incredible! It’s fantastic to see such a unique, new design, they look amazing, I think we can all hardly wait to see the finished shoes and doll~

I’m so curious to see and know more about how you make molds. Could you show what materials you use and how you work?

  4. Crystal says:

I’m amazed at the symmetry that you achieve with 2 separate shoes and 4 sides to each heel! And you do this all by eye!

    Writing …for what?!

I love the platform shape – very satisfying.

  6. Hazel says:

Oh. My. Goodness. What a coincidence that you would post Cixi WIPs right now! I -just- finished reading ‘Empress Orchid’ by Anchi Min (which is about the life of Empress Cixi). There was a part in it that described Manchu shoes on platforms, and I immediately thought of your Cixi doll and a comment you made about platformed shoes a while back.
They’re lovely, as usual. I have no doubt that you can make them work.

  7. Silvana says:

They are so beautiful. For me, every work you show us I’m amazed.
hardly wait to see finished Cixi.

  8. How do you do it. I guess no coffee for you.Your hands need to be relaxed and calm. I realy like the last drawing, bottom one.

  9. Astera says:

All of the designs are absolutely gorgeous. The one you chose seems the most elegant of them all.

I guess A fan asked the right question…what are you writing? Something related to the ED book?
