Texturing a canvas print

Texturing a canvas print with layers of transparent gel, to make it look like an expressionist oil painting. I adore this semi-realism effect, and the hand-crafted process behind its creation. The raised gel ‘pops’ the folds of photographed doll costumes off the canvas, and gives them volume. It’s an Enchanted Doll in its third iteration - An augmented 3d canvas, made from a 2d photograph, of a three dimensional porcelain sculpture. In other words it’s art made from art, of other art. I love all these symbolic layers, like I love the layers of gesso on this canvas.

This limited edition canvas print is currently available for sale on my website store, along with some others.
