Autumn 2012 Events Announcement

dome-085
Dear Friends, autumn is always a busy time for me. Art shows, fashion shows and doll shows tend to take place around this time and that’s when I usually take Enchanted Doll on the road too. Right now I’m preparing for three events in three countries and have some really exciting news for you! Here is the scoop in a nutshell.

Speaking at the Emily Carry University of Art and Design, Vancouver BC, September 28th 2012

Using a compact and dynamic presentation format called Pecha-Kucha (chit-chat), I’ll be giving a short (5 min) talk accompanied by 10 slides, along with 9 other Emily Carr alumni about my life and times as an artist since graduation. Anyone can attend this lecture, but you have to register here to reserve a spot. There will be some mingling and drinking afterwards. Come and see me and 9 others of my kind talk about ourselves!

International Doll Salon in Moscow, Russia, October 4-7th 2012

I’ve got two awesome things prepared for this event. First, I will be there in person to launch the first Russian-language edition of the Enchanted Doll art book! Awesome. Second, I will also be premiering a limited and experimental line of Resin Enchanted Dolls! Awesome, awesome. Only 20 resin dolls will be available at this convention. Also for the first time along with the dolls, I’ll be bringing my collection of Enchanted Doll jewelery, such as lanterns, hand and face pendants etc, with me as well. Come and see me and my new projects! More info coming soon.

Pieceno Fashion Doll Convention in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy, October 26-28th 2012

I feel very honored to have been invited as special guest to show my traveling porcelain collection at the new Pieceno fashion doll convention in Italy! And as a special treat to my Italian collectors, I will be premiering twenty Resin dolls there too! Alongside with Enchanted Doll jewelery and souvenirs. Come and see me and my dolls there!

Although it’s going to be a jam-packed autumn, I am very excited about being a part of these events, as they represent a fulfillment of long time goals, dreams and projects.

Stand by for more info.

Wow wow wow! I’m so happy for you Marina, all those things sound amazing. Too bad I live too far away to come and see any of these events, but I anticipate more blogs and many pictures about them :P
I also look forward to seeing more of your latest projects, they are always awe-strikingly inspiring and it really sounds like you have more great things in store for us. And an experimental resin line launch! I’m speechless! Endlessly excited to see/hear more about that in particular.
I love the picture of the doll above by the way. That headdress is sublime and so is the doll; it reminds me of 1001 Nights.

The resin dolls will be available to buy at the event on first come fist serve basis. One doll per person until the last day of the event.
Price will be announced soon. I’m still working out the costs and such.

If the first edition is well-accepted, then I will pursue the line on the limited edition basis.

    SQUEEEEEEeeeeEEEE!!!

This is such an overload of Enchanted Doll goodness!

I’m especially excited for the resin line! With the prices of porcelain dolls soaring up, I think I just might relent and get a resin one instead.

And, yes. I’d love for you to have an exhibit in Australia. (I know you’re planning to have just holidays, but one can wish, right?) It’s so much closer to where I live that I just might be able to snag a ticket to see you and your dolls in person (finally!)

Loving that new headpiece, btw. <3

If the resin dolls are a success in Russia and Italy (and I have no doubt they will be), will you be offering them to those who signed up in Feb 2010?

Hope all goes well for you at both exhibitions!

Marina, you know us better than that! A resin line could only ever be devoured by your fans! ^O^ You better pack some protective kit (maybe some hockey pads, or your snowboarding gear) because I can forsee sheer pandemonium around your stall at these events!!! ^-^

Reaction (out loud might I add) while watching the above image load: “WHAT am I SEEING?!”. This headdress is truly a sight, such innovation and beauty, I imagine she gets great movement with her shimmering veil. I love it!

And wowowow, amazing Autumn all around for you! What a great gift to us all! Congratulations on all of these amazing ventures, I imagine your Russian fans have been on you for a Russian language version of the book, heh. And resin dolls, gasp!

One day, you MUST come to Toronto!

Marina, I’m really excited about all your events and especially the release of the resin line, but wish the some of the resin dolls would be for sale in Vancouver. But being in Vancouver myself, I feel very lucky already to have already registered for your presentation :) Hope to finally meet you in person!

The Resin Line of Enchanteddolls?!!!!!!!!!!!! This is very exciting news. I am positively sure that resin EDs will be as popular as your porcelain. It gives an opportunity for many doll collectors to owe your dolls.

I would say, “Go for it Marina”.

Wish you good luck with your shows in Russia and Italy.

I have to admit the word plastic kind of kills the excitement of owning something dear to our hearts. Thats the reality if we can’t aford a porcelain doll the other option would have to be resin…….but if I could chose……porcelain makes it more precious….

It doesn’t sound nice when you say “plastic”does it? But then you see the end result after they get the Bychkova treatment and…… They are going to sell out quicker than blink, I’m certainly going to try to get one,she can look after my enchanted lantern when I’m not wearing it,when I’m asleep!! I would love to be able to see one of the shows, maybe another little video !!! Please, I DID say please.
