I have a confession: I collect minerals, crystals, rocks, and fossils in my spare time from doll-making. Perhaps some of you have deduced that about me already, since porcelain itself is a Mineral! All ceramic clays are minerals!
Popular culture has taught me to think that mineral collecting a cringy, fringe-y hobby for some reason, so I’ve mostly kept it private, but deep down Il’ve always wanted to incorporate it into my doll making practice somehow. So, I’m just going to start doing that.
This is Elixia surrounded by some of the specimen from my collection, that I thought matched her colour scheme. Amethyst contrasts beautifully with her golden hair, because purple and yellow are complementary colours. I think Elixia is a natural crystal Goddess. What do you think?
