This is a preview to Summer’s End photoshoot we did with my favourite doll Skyler in the woodland near our cottage. This photo was inspired by one of my favourite artworks of my favourite artist Sulmith Wulfing.
Being a maker of little porcelain dolls, I really identify with the girl in the picture. I feel like she is Me! And yet it was drawn in 1931, which was 95 years ago! I feel like this drawing truly embodies Enchanted Doll. After all, so much of my work has been informed by Sulamith Wulfing’s aesthetic. That’s why I have this framed and hanging in my studio.
