The Summer’s End photoshoot we did with my favourite doll Skyler in the woodland near our cottage. This photo was inspired by one of my favourite artworks of my favourite artist Sulmith Wulfing.
I had spotted this glen on a walk a day earlier, and knew I wanted to come back and shoot a doll there when the light was right, where the sunlight was filtered, and the moss still green and lush.. I wanted a strong back light to envelop the doll in the dreamy and nostalgic glow of that eternal summer afternoon that stretches on forever into a cricket filled evening
I wanted to capture a feeling of solitary daydreaming and contemplation in the forest on a hot afternoon as summer draws to a close, thinking of past summers that have ended, and the new ones still to come.
Does it come across? If not, then what do these make you feel?
